OTHER SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES

Dangerous main service boxes, which SHOULD BE replaced are: Zinsco, Federal Pacific Stab-Lok, Push-A-Matic, Sylvania, and Magnatrip brands. If you do have any one of those, please have a qualified Electrician check the condition, wiring connections, and bus bars, for the safety of you and your family.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY ALERT

It has come to my attention over the years that most people trusted that their home was wired correctly. For the most part, that may be true at the time of the building of the property.

However, some homes were not. Which one is yours? How would you know? Your home is a large investment and times have changed to where every household consumes much more electricity than in the past. Is your home adequate enough to sustain the demand without overloading , or potentially causing a fire hazard?

The majority of hazards occur over time through vibrations, and many other reasons that will cause wiring to get loose in their termination points that can build up a heat spot to the point where a spark or arc ignition can start a fire without warning.

You should have a main electrical breaker panel inspection done every 5 years (in my experience and opinion).

Also, any double-tapped breakers can be discovered at that time, and can be fixed as well at the owners discretion if approved.

While there may not be an NEC code against double-tapping in a sense; it is not acceptable with any municipal electrical inspector (AHJ) when buying or selling a home, and absolutely against the code if the double tapped breaker has 2 different sized wires connected to it. The worst part of double-tapping a breaker when there are 2 different sizes on the same breaker creates a very dangerous situation as the screw can not exert the same amount of tightening force on both wires due to different sizes, again.... causing, over time, a heat buildup from the loose wire, which can and usually does cause the potential fire hazard. Many people do not know this. Get your breaker box and wiring checked out for your family's safety and to protect your investment. It only takes about an hour and is only $120 until December 31st, 2023. Call to schedule an appointment today for a peace of mind.

SUMMER POOL SAFETY AWARENESS

Fun In The Sun!! While that is the best time of the year, it is best if you follow up with pool electrical safety which is just as important as any other aspect, like making sure your chemicals are correct and the water pH is correct, etc. I suggest you, a pool company, or a licensed Electrician is called out to inspect the electrical cords, connections, plugs, proper grounding and bonding of your pool or hot tub (spa). Bonding is such an overlooked issue that seems to come up and can be fatal if not correct. I have nothing against Handymen, but these are things you need a professionally licensed company to come out to ensure the safety for all during each summer fun time. Waiting until there is or was an injury is not an excuse and is a totally unacceptable mindset. Family and friends are worth much more than any expense that would incur to ensure their safety. Wishing everyone a fantastic summer!!

RESIDENTIAL and COMMERCIAL WORK

LATEST DEALS FOR 2024

Electrical Panel Servicing - Only $130

Includes: Inspection of all wiring for correct size wire for breaker, signs of heat stress, check for proper torque on every wire at every termination point. Most Electricians do not provide that detailed of a service. The NEC specifies the necessity to do that to ensure a proper torqued connection and not overtightening which can be as bad as a loose wire which produces heat and could cause a house fire. Our service takes only about an hour and ensures proper electrical wiring. Your home and families safety is worth the peace of mind.

Updated NEC GFCI Replacement Info

Replace current/old Outdoor GFCI's with the newest up-to-date NEC code required WR/TR type Receptacles that are correctly matched to the correct size of outlet feed wiring. Loose wiring from old wiring and heat stressed GFCI's over the years are subject to and has a potential to cause a house fire to start without warning.

Another IMPORTANT Maintenance Issue For Homes/Commercial and Office Buildings

Regular Main Breaker Box Inspections are also important to have done every few years. The reason for this important task to be completed by a licensed Electrician is because no one knows how heat stressed their main breaker box has become without inspection of the internal busbars and components; wiring that becomes loose or also heat stressed enough to cause a hidden heat buildup that can potentially cause a house fire as well. Even more-so than ever before as homes use much more electrical devices, extension cords, etc. without realizing what is happening to their electrical system until it is too late. We will perform a total breaker box inspection and do maintenance (tightening of all connections, checking for proper size wiring for the breaker that it is connected to, ensure there are no double tapped breakers as well). You should ask a professional to do this, not a handyman. You do not have to use my company, but to protect your family members and the investment of your property, please have a company come out and perform this service to ensure your electrical safety is where it should be.
